These terms cover the free trial of StackPilot App, provided by Hayanlabs. They are incorporated by reference into our Terms and Conditions and our EULA.
What the trial includes
- 14 days, starting when you verify your email address. No payment method is requested and nothing is charged.
- The Pro tier for the duration: up to 5 servers, unlimited sites, databases, queues and cron jobs.
- One trial per person. We limit repeat claims from the same email address, and no more than 3 trials from one network address in any 30-day period.
- Optional paid add-ons are not included in the trial unless stated otherwise on the pricing page.
What happens when the trial ends
Please read this section before you start. StackPilot App stops working when the trial expires. The app checks its licence with our licence server, and once the trial has ended that check fails: you are returned to the licence screen and cannot manage your servers through the app until you buy a licence and activate it.
What we do not do
- We do not touch your servers. Everything StackPilot App installed or configured keeps running exactly as it was. Sites stay online, services stay up, cron jobs and queue workers keep going.
- We do not block your access. StackPilot App is a desktop application that connects to your servers directly over SSH. We are not in the path. Your SSH access is unaffected and you can administer your servers by any other means at any time.
- We do not hold your credentials. SSH keys, server passwords and environment values live in your operating system keychain and on your own disk throughout, so there is nothing for us to withhold.
- We do not charge you. No payment method is taken for the trial, so nothing can renew or convert automatically.
In short: the trial ending removes your access to the application, not to your servers or your data.
Offline grace period
Separately from the trial window, StackPilot App allows a 24-hour offline grace period when it cannot reach our licence server, so a dropped connection or an outage on our side does not interrupt your work. This grace applies only to unreachable-server situations. It does not extend a trial that has ended, and once the 24 hours lapse without a successful check the app returns to the licence screen.
Continuing after the trial
Buy any tier from the pricing page and activate the licence in the app. Your local data (servers, sites and settings) remains on your machine during and after the trial, so activating a licence restores access to the setup you already had. Payment is one-time for the major version you buy, as described in our licensing terms.
Your account after the trial
Your account stays open if you do not buy. If an account has no licence and remains inactive for 90 days, we email a warning to the registered address and delete the account 30 days after that warning, in line with our Privacy Policy. Signing in during that window keeps the account. Deleting your account at any point is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Fair use and withdrawal
- Trials are for evaluating StackPilot App. Using them in sequence to avoid buying a licence is not permitted.
- We may decline or end a trial where we detect abuse, including repeated claims across addresses or automated sign-ups.
- We may change the length or contents of the trial for future sign-ups. A trial already running keeps the terms it started under.
Refunds
The trial is free, so there is nothing to refund. Purchases made after a trial are covered by our Refund Policy, which gives you 14 days to change your mind.
